A meme and a question

1. Make a list of 5 things you can see without getting up.

1) (Mostly empty) bucket of Red Vines
2) The Man Wall
3) Calculator
4) Stuffed Dalek
5) A few DVDs: Broken Flowers, Serenity, Chunking Express, Hot Fuzz
I think that's a good representation of the kind of person I am.

2. How do you style your hair?

Simple blowout for my bob.

3. What are you wearing now?

Blue cami, grey gardigan, white skirt, leather knee boots and pink striped socks.

4. What's your most favorite place to visit in the world?

I'm a New York City sorta girl.

5. What is your favorite fruit?

Watermelon, raspberries, blackberries.

6. Pick a two word phrase to describe yourself

Eternally hungry.

7. What book(s) are you currently reading or want to read?

Reading Memoirs of a Dirty Old Man by Bukowski and Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman at a friend's request.
Want to read Ender's Game.

8. What's the last thing you ate today?

Blueberries, grapes, and Goldfish. Katherine, Anne, Ugoezi and I share food during physics lab. :)

9. What calms you?

Deep breaths, naps on grass, jazz, attractive cloud formations, long walks with my camera, a strong breeze, climbing trees, a cup of tea... basically everything.

10. What websites do you visit when you go online?

Right now: Facebook, LiveJournal, bSpace, youtube, flickr, College Humor, FoodPornDaily, Last.fm, CalMail, and about 12 webcomics sites.

11. What's the last thing you bought?

The aforementioned books and pizza from Cheeseboard.

12. What are you listening to now?

"Jewlery." Atmosphere.

13. What do you think about before you go to bed?

;-)

14. What was the last CD(s) you bought?

We Can Create by Maps. Highly recommended, if you're into sprouling, ecstatic electro and ethereal vocals. Good enough to pay for.

15. What is your favourite weather and why?

Wildly stormy or wildly sunny and windy. The former makes me elated, the later relaxed. I love everything except overcast days.

16. If you could play any musical instrument, which one would you play?

The cello.

17. Anything exciting as of late?

Nothing excited me much these days.

18. If you could do anything at all today, money and time not an issue, what would you do?

See my grandmother.

19. What was the last concert you went to?

I can't remember. :(
I am going to see Habib Koite Tomorrow though! :D

Which brings me to my next point:

Anyone interested in going to some upcoming shows with me?

April 14 and 21: Fleet Foxes with Blizten Trapper
May 1: Yann Tierson with Asobi Seksu
May 6 and 7: Iron & Wine
May 9: The Shins
May 9: CeU
May 17: Mogwai
Jun 26: David Byrne with DeVotchka

Let me know if you're up for seeing Van Morrison, Eric Clapton, Destroyer, Dengue Fever, Ladytron, Atmosphere, The Black Keys, Leonard Cohen... (Basically there were too many to list!)

I've never been to an electro or hip hop concert before. Please come with me!

I'm down with that like Richard's lingering gaze on a pubescent boy.

Apparently, no one in the LOST fandom shares our wrongness.

Was thinking about The Fleet Foxes and The Shins as well. I'm not sure though.

Haha, really? The cello? Not the flute?

I find it strange that 15 has a "u" in "favourite", but 4 uses the American spelling.

The Shins seem like they would be cute live.

I need to go to more hardcore rock shows. Or go to at least one, and walk home with a bloody nose. That is my goal.

Flute is nice and all, but sometimes you need the touch of a woman smooth sound of bow on string.

There was a 14 year old girl at Cheeseboard playing jazzy tunes on flute. Amazing.

Perhaps someone added the last few questions?

Yeah, I didn't have a chance to visit the Warfield. It got late.

Are there any rock shows coming up?

Wow, performing at 14? She must be pretty good. Jazz on the flute sounds interesting.

I think I'll stick with the guitar for now, though. Not quite as smooth a sound as the cello, but a similarly smooth shape. ;)
